Very Beginning Knitting Class: $50 - 2 Sessions

Wednesdays 11/1/17 and 11/8/17 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM

This 2-part class will cover the process of casting on, knitting, purling and casting off. You will create a scarf. You can choose the type and color of yarn you want to knit from our vast inventory and we will pair you up with the correct needles. A reference book on knitting is highly recommended and there are several to choose from in the shop. Come in prior to class to select yarn from among choices available.

Crochet Cowl: $25 - 1 Session

Sunday 11/12/17 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM

Yes, it's really crocheted, not knitted. This cowl is made almost entirely of half double crochet stitches. The trick is in knowing where to insert your hook into your stitch. This stitch creates a fabric, which looks knitted and has a wonderful drape. You can make an infinity scarf by simply starting off with more chains in the beginning. For this project, you will need one skein of Cascade Sunseeker or similar yarn. Bring a size J (6.0mm) hook and a size I (5.5mm) hook or similar size hooks for gauge and small removable stitch markers. For this class, you need to know how to chain, single crochet and half double crochet.

You’ve seen them in movies and on TV. Now you can learn to knit your own market bag for the ultimate in recycling! Re-use time and time again for groceries and produce. These will make great gifts! I have simplified the pattern so you will fly with this project. You can make several by the holidays for gifts! Any yarn that contains linen or silk is suitable for this project Circular needle sizes 6 & 10, 32” or 40” and stitch marker needed. Original instructions use double pointed needles – I have re-written the direction to use Magic Loop or 2 same size circular needles.

Leg Warmers: $25 - 1 Session

Wednesday 11/29/17 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM

These stylish legwarmers will be perfect to keep your legs (or those of someone else special) toasty this winter. Wear them over tights or leggings or even over pants or jeans. You can also add some techniques to your set of skills if you don’t have experience with cable knitting or knitting bobbles. A supply list to make the legwarmers will be available in the shop when you sign up. If you would like to take this class come in before class time, if possible, to pick out yarn for your project and get the supply list which will let you know what yarn and needles you’ll need, but also get you started on the project. If you are able to cast on and get the ribbing done before class, there will be more time for me to help you with the pattern. Skill Level: Experienced Beginner

Rainbow Entrelac Cowl: $25 - 1 Session

Wednesday 12/13/17 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM

This colorful beauty looks as if it would be very difficult to knit. However, if you can pick up stitches, you can make it. Join me to knit this striking entrelac cowl. It looks as if it's knit in the round. But, even though it's joined in a circle, it's actually knit in alternate knit and purl rows. Any multicolored yarn with long color intervals will look fabulous.
